Marbella,Torremolinos,Malaga, Antequera
We went to the seaside, names I had heard of. Had a sort of swim in Marbella but was disappointed that although the beach is sandy the sea bottom was gravel and dropped away quickly. Still it was lovely to lie in the shade of a palm tree and then cool off in the water.
Then Torremolinos for lunch where we got a park on the beach front when a motorhome moved out and we moved in . Very windy . The sea side is just one apartment village after another, holiday houses by the hundreds.
We visited Malaga old town a really nice city to wander about and visited the castle and roman theatre.
Then on to Antequera for the night , got a nice spot by the football centre ( no sports on so super quiet)
Next day we decided to drive Reggie closer to the old town. And castle, unfortunately the Satan’s took us up into the old town. Streets so narrow cars are not allowed to park, it was horrible squeezing along,
Right angle turns in a motor home not great fun. I got the map and found a way out but well done P for keeping a cool head and not hitting anything.
Once we were out we came to a street with a policeman on it and no cars as they were having a procession, luckily they hadn’t got to this intersection so he waved us through and we’d drove through the scattered people to a big car park by the castle.
The church had an amazing statue of a saint being towed by seven dragons. The parade was confirmation day and lots of girls in white lacy dresses and boys in suits walked in front of a very heavy statue carried by struggling men and woman to the beat of a drum. They carried it a very long way stopping a churches when the nuns sung songs. We managed a seat in the cafe window at the end point so while they struggled we drank coffee and tea.
Good look around it is a lovely old white town with a moorish castle.
