Le Lude, Luceau, Troo , Chateaudun October 1-3

Le Lude was an amazing chateau that wouldn't let us take photos inside....

Link to the chateau

The rooms had a lot of furniture and a great library. The grounds were rather nice as well.

enjoying the sunshine

never too old or a swing

why a hedgehog on the front

Then off to visit troglodytes at Troo...the area we drove though was based on a lot of limestone hills and the locals for years have been carving out houses and storage.

poor St Roc always shown with his leg exposed

they had glasses in the water that had calcified
been awhile since these worked

bought the t-shirt  should confuse people who read it

We stayed the night behind the mayors office it was lovely and quiet not a sound all night.

Next day we headed to Vendome and had a walk about the streets.

rather odd to have the man off the horse

Then finally today we settled in Chateaudun in a camp where we talked to some brits who got sick of cancelling there holidays and decided to just come over. A bit cold to be starting your holidays.

We had a long walk along the Loir ( not a spelling mistake) and up into the town on the hill. Another big chateau and wooded houses, its amazing how many have survived for do long.
