Canaveral, Caceres .
Dropped in at the battle field for Perry to walk up some hills, and then visited a bull ring from the first century AD
Stayed the night at Canerval , really nothing there but the nice camper park, did 14 days laundry hung it out and all dry in 3 hours, so yes it was hot. Our van neighbours were an English couple from Preston that we sat with for a couple of hours in the shade having a drink and telling stories.
Lovely hot shower and off to Caceres, a lovely old city narrow streets and old Moorish buildings.
We stopped for lunch at a roadside cafe André I had two vege dishes , one rice with a fried egg, the other boiled courgette with tomato, Ames with white wine and bread and then after s was a creme caramel .
I didn’t have the pig lizards thta
We went to see cave drawings the earliest in Europe dates to 60,000 years old they sadly only open the caves on Friday, we read the information then the attendant put a movie on in English which was good, then he handed me a virtual reality head set and I used it to walk through the caves , a really disconcerting feeling as when you look down there is only cave floor and no feet . Thank goodness P enjoyed it as we took a while to find a park and get there. It was like being there but not cold and slippery.
Then into the old town.
The town has a lot of very fancy restaurants even a 3 Michelin star one , I looked in it smelt like vanilla .
The road is now surrounded by thousands of olive , cork, almond trees as far as the eye can see.
And sun flowers are just starting to appear. We are very close to the Portuguese border but don’t plan to pop over.
