Gernika and Guggenheim

Then off to Gernika to see Picasso’s mural and visit the peace museum which commemorates the bombing and destruction of the town in 1937.

Walk through the town park which had ducklings and turtles in the pond and a large Henry Moore statue.

Back at the van and there are chickens all about the place having a wander and a peck.

Next day we got up early and caught the train into Bilbao with the plan to go to the Guggenheim but not sure what the queues will be like.

easy trip in only E3.40 and then walked to the Guggenheim, what an incredible building all those shapes.

the queue turned out to be 10 people so we went in and explored the art . one room Of Miro,

one of huge steel shapes you could walk in and felt incredibly claustrophobic. and some other artists ive never heard of...

I liked the building more than the art.

We then head off to explore the old town where there where some lovely buildings and  even some open shops to visit.

then train back to Gernika and stayed another night as it was getting dark.
