A vineyard at Lascaux the beach at Corsairs

A pleasant days driving with the stopover at a vineyard. The deal is you stay for free, you have a wine tasting and they hope you buy some wine. the location was lovely in the Dordogne with hundreds of hectares of grapes all around.d, the area is all grapes and chateau.

Ours was a small family owned operation and we tried a white , rose and two reds,  one oaked.

The white and the rose were good but I didn’t like the two Bordeaux reds very rough I thought.

I bought two of the rose as my contribution, no hardship as I’ll drink them both.

The satnav tried to tie us in  knots and we passed pilgrims walking the men towing a cart with their  packs on and two woman and a girl  walking  behind . Off to Santiago i suppose, the route they were on comes from Norway.

Then today we headed for Bayonne with an exciting stop to do all our laundry , washed and dried and I now have my full complement of 14 pairs of knickers .

We  drove into Bayonne hoping for a park but it was packed so after negotiating some narrow street we have come out to the beach, Anglet, a part of Biarritz. We got an park in a dedicated park with 15 others but it’s now filled to 20.

Great spot behind the sand dunes and then the sea, Bay of Biscay, we walked along the sand and I  dipped a toe end in but the water was cold and very rough. So back back along and had a glass of wine and some potato bravas mmmmmm yum .
