Giverny, Monet's garden and house

Today was a glorious gardeners delight visiting Monet's house and garden. We had spent the night in the carpark for the house and were woken by large trucks delivering gravel. There were 6 of them on both sides of us.  They didn't seem to mind just dropped heir loads and headed off, the more and more of them came so we moved to the bus park..

The rain held off and we went and explored the famous garden, I had expected to be disappointed with it being an autumn garden but it was still lovely with the lily pond and brides and lots of bright dahlias and autumn leaves.

We also got to explore the house which Monet had designed and chosen the colour. His studio was enormous but so were some of his paintings.

this was a lovely bright dining room

a rather crazy mill house on Seine at Vernon
