Fougeres: 20 August

We drove a scenic route today expecting to hold up cyclists and have trouble getting past CC ( camping cars) coming the other way and there was no trouble. There is just nobody here. We went through some beautiful countryside passed over revolutionary strategic bridges and visited medieval churches and no one was there.

rather nice chateau where we stopped for a cold drink ( just juice)

a bridge that was fought over during the french revolution

rather grand church

with a font in the foyer

yet another empty town

We are now in Fougeres and it is lovely, lots of room and lots of green with a new shower block.
the view from our dinner table

where the rabbits were hopping about.

We have decided to stay an extra night as the laundry was really cheap and the site so nice. It could fit 70 and I think there are 7 of us scattered about , I asked the lady in the reception and she said normally they would be full but the covid has kept them away.

The castle here is the biggest complete old one in France so there looked like a lot of people there when we went past.
