Dol D'Bretagne, Concale, 30th August

The day dawned wet  rain rain and more rain, by lunchtime we had enough an decided to go on our bike ride anyway. there were trees along the track that gave shelter for any heavy rain.

I had a padded vest and my rain coat so was warm and dry.

it was an easy flat ride along the towpath of the canal

we stopped at this marina for lunch and shelter out of the rian ( which stopped)I had aubergine, ricotta and mint pate with fresh bread. P had meatballs and summer vege stew

There were art installations along the way which were interesting.

The rain was off and on and after visiting 7 locks we headed back to reggie.

some one else's naked baby

Today when we woke up the car park was full and there were a crowd of people so we decided to follow them...  it was a car boot sale. I have photos of selection of nice things you could have bought.

a doll with an unfortunate hair do. a model plane ( P bought that one) a large blue bunny, a box of second hand pipes. I did quite like the wind up gramaphones though.
I bought a big bag of tomatoes from an old chap for a E1, they smell fantastic, they were an afterthought from his garden I think as he was selling all sorts of junk otherwise.

The it was time to go and we headed to Concale a town famous for its port and oysters.

the oyster tables ( i think most of them are moved to a new site round the bay, these seemed mostly abandoned)

what a crazy tree

what every one comes here for.

chuck the empty shells on the sand

a bowl with a name  one for everyone even Jude

a popular choice a few of each

and if you dont like seafood , icecream in a bun

We wandered about for the afternoon the got a Tuk Tuk up the hill back to reggie and bought a pizza from the van in the corner of our nights car park.

  1. I love the tree. I hate the ice-cream in a bun concept, cannot imagine why you would, and seriously disappointed at the french for doing it!
