Soderkoping 29 Aug

I can hear thunder I think another storm is on its way.  We need it it has been hot and muggy all day.

We stopped for lunch on a lake, no surprise there.

Slowly making our way to Soderkoping, in time, I think for the storm.

The town is on the Gotekanal and is very much a cute tourist town but all the tourist left a week ago. Places are now starting to close and most tourist ones will close on 31 August.
We had a walk along the canal and there were really nice old houses.
it is called rabbits crossing and there are some on the other bank as well

what a happy chap

Queen Judith of Sweden, apparently this used to be where they crowned kings and queens although I doubt this is the throne

On our wanders we discovered that there is a medieval fair here starting tonight. There are lots of tents selling wooden, woolen and leather items and wild boar on a spit sort of food for sale. They must be hoping the thunder storm doesn't happen.     P is keen to go down and get some pig in a bun for dinner , I think it will depend on the weather. Still we will have a look around tomorrow when the sun comes up.

it might look medieval but they are using an electric post holer.

looks like italy, they did a dig and found 12 streets from various eras all laid on top of each other, as one got a bit mucky they paid more timber, more stones etc.  The whole is quite a lot higher than when the town started .
