Hej fra Danmark 6th Juli

We had to leave the site we were at by the pool because they had decided to demolish a large concrete tower, so they had jack hammers and concrete cutters... not restful at all.

But yesterday we found a really nice farm stay and settled in as it was misty and raining.  It cleared a bit and we went on a bike ride to see the sea and the unesco protected mudflats that join the islands to the mainland.
I had to wear a padded vest under my coat at the wind off the sea was freezing. The electric bike was great for heading into the wind with hardly any effort from me.

Then Today we headed for Denmark.
We stopped at a supermarket on the border to get eggs milk and bread and they only had alcohol and sweets . so we went to the one next door again huge array of alcohol and sweets and clothes washing powder and loo paper. I think these are the things that have a higher price in Denmark. I had read about the runs people make across the border for drink but didn't know about the sweets.

We did get milk but nothing else, crazy.

Anyway we drove about 5 miles and found a fabulous site behind a  car park and settled in, it was just us but now at 6pm there are 4 of us in a big field. ( free with toilets and no power but that okay as we have solar and gas).
The street next to us is beautiful all cobbles and old houses, cafes and antique shops. It has a castle at one end with a forest you can walk through.

We found a cafe all the meals were fish on toast, fish balls, fish with asparagus, fish soup and meat with potatoes... I had an apple cake which they warmed and was really nice and P had biscuit cake. We also got a family sized cafetiere of coffee and a huge pot of tea, far too much for us.

One thing Ihave noticed the cemeteries in Germany and again here in Denmark are like allotments, little patches of green perfectly manicured and not one left to ruin or with weeds. Quite unlike the UK or NZ were if the family dont tidy up no one does.

Well I better go make dinner  something with the mushrooms that I bought yesterday.

If you read Perry's blog you will see that once we got back he started a chat with vodafone..... during the time he was chatting with them I had a shower, prepared and cooked tea, did the dishes, read, did a crossword.. he was on line for 5  yes 5 hours. ( this morning he went back on for another 3. the calls only stop after he manages to gt through to a manager then after an hour the manager drops the call and he has to start again explaining it all to a new person: what has been happening is that they are using bandwidth at night, we thought it might be the laptops and phones doing upgrades so last night we turned the internet off. this morning there was usage again over night!!  apparently vodafone are forever sending out messages and upgrades and using our data..... P not happy and chasing them to stop it and refund us. yesterday they turned the data off altogether by mistake and it took four hours to get it back on again)  P is very frustrated, he has sent the equivalent of  work day on chart with vodafone staff

anyway enough about that...
