Agon Coutainville, Avranches 16 August
We had pouring rain all night, a nice noise on the roof. We headed back to the coast as I had read that Agon Coutainville was a nice place to visit.
We got there after a drive about more battlefield area and went for a long walk along the seaside.

| Tide drop here is a kilometre according to the plaque |
They have a proper promenade between the houses and the sea ( it was miles away again with the tide being out). Fortunately it was warm and sunny again. A good mix of old and new styles of house.

We had lunch there ( not moule frites ) and I watched two races, as there was trotting race track was behind the van ) it was odd as the horses disappeared behind a tennis court roof for 1/4 of the race. I was so close I could hear the drivers shouting and whistling in the home straight.
We headed away long the coast and right into a thunder storm and will spend tonight and tomorrow exploring Avranches.
| yes that dark cloud did bring rain and lots of it |
