Cormeilles: 22 July

We had a nice drive through the French countryside staying inland  rather than heading to the coast. We had to pass a tractor mowing the verge on the road but as it is so dry he was shaving dirt and firing it back over the side of the road, was like a dust storm to drive through, fortunately they had men with walkie talkies to control the traffic.

We rrived in Cormeilles early afternoon and started our visit with lunch and a sit in the sun, it is a nice site with hedges between the vans and trees and grass at the ends.

We had a stroll through the town and a trip to the market . the main attraction is a church with a sloping floor. then front is a level equal to a second story above the back. must be very disconcerting and if a child tempting  to roll things.

Some nice old wooden frame buildings as well.

a carved horses head on the stairs

we had a sit in the afternoon then dinner then walked into town for a calvados as the local factory was the first to ever make it
and only E15 for the two snifters

  1. Boy I think 15 euros for 2 little drinks of calvados is fairly expensive! You had better come back to NZ - could buy a bit of quarantine time for that amount...
    Lovely architecture photos though.
