Steenderen then Linden 16/9
We awoke to sunshine and heat so decided to sit around half the day then we went for a bike ride for the afternoon.

We rode through the countryside then along a dijke and through the smallest city in Netherlands ( really only a tiny village so must have bribed someone to be a city ) .
There was an amazing number of people out cycling in the sun lots of them later middle ages.
Then today we awoke in the rain and moved on.
We are now between Arnhem and Nijmegen which is the area that a Bridge to Far is set and is the Road to Liberation area.
It was a US and British airborne parachuted in and then were to capture the bridges to enable the advance to Germany.
As it happens it is the 75th anniversary of the action so there are displays and events on.
There is due to be a 1000 person parachute drop on Wednesday which should be amazing.
