Karradul Sweden 26 July and 27th July

Up and I had collected our fresh buns by 8.30 ( a man comes round and asks for your order the night before then sits in a caravan and waits for you to collect them).

It was one of the busiest camps we have stayed in that isnt a full blown holiday camp they are enormous,  so I was glad we were in a quiet corner .

We headed into the town and visited a citadel which had a helicopter in the grounds giving rides ( short and costly)

The whole town was having a festival with activities for the kids in the parks including an obstacle course through the trees and over hurdles etc. And blow up fun on the  beach.

There was a fair with rides and food stalls in the town  ( and this odd statue) then headed on our way.

And a happy sunbather in the park.

There was a lack of choice when it came to the road going north and we had to take a major motor way. P cunningly sits behind a truck so they think that is the hold up as poor Reggie doesn't really handle 110km/hr for long stretches of time so we sit at 80  .

We did pass this rather nice church though.

We got to where we planned to stay and there was a big fort, a nice beach and pavilion but no space for us. We looked at two other parks in the town and all full.

The town, Varberg,  did have a great big fort and a pier.

first the vikings invaded and now ferries full of tourists

We headed up the coast thinking we may have to stop on a road side park as it was still 28 deg and 6 pm.

We stopped at the next one on our map and it is a large carpark for a beach with 100 car spaces and only 10 people here.  Now all the cars have gone and there are 10 motor homes well spaced in the big park.

We walked the 50 mtrs to the beach and had a welcome swim in the sea, super clean , very shallow and quite warm.

Then dinner outside watching a sunset that was so bright is you painted it people would laugh at your rubbish choice of colours,

Swimsuit and towels on the line as I think we will stay tomorrow and go for a bike ride and another swim.  There is a nice toilet block shower and loo emptying room so everything we need really and free so better still. Thank goodness we have solar panels on the roof makes it possible to camp without plugging in and there has been plenty of sunshine to charge them up.

27th July : we stayed another day, biked not very successfully as we couldn't find any nice bike paths, swam sat on the beach, P built some walls around a child's sandcastles and had a drink at the local restaurant where a guest took this picture of us, very rare to get us both in one shot.

We went for a walk in the local official camp and it was a lot busier than here.

we are in the brown rectangle area
