11 July Lokken

It was grey and raining when we woke up what a change from yesterdays sunshine. Even though we are on a fjord the waves were thudding against the stones, although not very big waves. We got all our laundry washed and dried for £2.50 so the van smells of warm clean laundry.

We planned to cover a few more miles today as some of our mileage has been done in 45 minutes and we decided we needed to hurry up a bit.

It was still really nice countryside and the traffic is very light so it was an easy drive.

We stopped for lunch by a fjord and then finally after 2.5 hours arrived in Lokken on the coast. It is a beach resort but we are at a small holding 4km away.

I was greeted by a small thai lady who took the funds and then a large danish chap came to say hello. He was wearing a Tauranga New Zealand cap and told me he used to visit his daughter there ( he was divorced and the wife and child  had moved to NZ).  He said that his daughter is now a model in New York getting the best of Thai and danish genes.  He told P he has had a few wives!!  It seems all from Thailand if the one here and the one in NZ are anything to go by.

The camp is nice and rural and not too busy. Well only two off us when we arrived now 5 vans.
He told me to help myself to strawberries from the field by the van so I had some then and picked some for breakfast. So much tastier straight from the plant and not in a supermarket tray.

The owner is bringing us four rolls and 2 croissants for breakfast for E3.50 and two free eggs from his chickens.

Most of the camps have a bread roll for breakfast service, you tell them what sort you want , white whole grain, black bread and they will deliver them.
I think we will go in to Lokken tomorrow and yes maybe see more bunkers on the beach.
