AN eventful day
The day started with rain as we watched the video of Mikes funeral with Karina doing an excellent job of ready P’s eulogy and Quentin reading Claire’s poem to begin the service. It was an amazing turnout of people just proving what a lovely man he was. We shed a few tears here and then Skyped P’s mum in NZ . The family have been wonderful keeping in touch twice a day so we never felt left out even though we are on the opposite side of the world. I am going to miss the big man's hug each time I arrive in NZ.
We gave up on the idea of going into Warwick to see the castle and headed off to Colchester to meet Claire.

I was driving when P spotted a sign for armourgeddon ... we followed them and it was a tank museum and driving experience.
We watched a corporate group practice driving 5 tanks and shooting at targets, then they were going to have a Tank paintball battle

I asked if P could have a go but they didn't have capacity ( £160 if you fancy it)

We had a sandwich and cuppa in the van and then watched some more but the rain drove us away.
Fairly uneventful once we hit the A14 where we were to travel for 56 miles when we hit a complete stop. We sat and sat and in the end I looked up my phone for a traffic update and saw this.
The driver was okay but the road was going to be closed for 4 hours. We sat for a while and then noticed that drivers were going down the on ramp beide us so so did a three point turn on the motorway with me out of the car waving to let people know what was happening and drove down the up ramp, a bit tricky getting off the bottom but luckily it was a round about so we could join it. We then had to programme the satnav to take to Colchester without hitting all the blocked roads.
After much winding and weaving we made it to the camp at 8pm, Two hours earlier than if we had stayed on the motorway .
We were meant to meet Claire tonight but are shattered so staying in the van ( it is still raining...) but at least with rain you do get a rainbow...
